The "Draggin Skin" clutch
is for the more competitive four cycle racers who want consistency in
engagement along with ease and flexibility in tuning the clutch to fit their
track and engine. The engagement of the clutch can be varied from 2,200 to
6,500 rpm by varying spring combinations. A floating spring ring design and a
phenolic resin bonded non-asbestos friction material with insulating properties
utilized on the shoes minimizes heat transfer, enhancing the life of the
springs.
The standard kits come with three (3) interchangeable sprockets (13, 14, 15),
(14, 15, 16) or (15, 16, 17) as well as 4 sets of nine (9) springs each. Additional
interchangeable sprockets are available up to 22 teeth. Additional springs, optional
shoes (metallic loaded friction material) and weight kits (7 &10 grams) are
also available.
Blair Precision takes the manufacturing process one step further by Blueprinting
the clutches. This involves precision machining both the shoes and drum so that
they match perfectly thus maximising clutch drive efficiency. The Blueprinting
process also reduces the friction in the internal operating mechanism, ensuring
consistent engagement and disengagement.
Blair
Precision also stocks the complete range of spare parts for the Draggin Skin
clutches.
